Big Soft Ginger Cookies



Ingredients            

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Additional sugar


Directions

1.Cream butter and sugar in a big bowl for 5-7 minutes, or until light and creamy. Mix in the egg and molasses. Flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt are combined; they are then gradually added to the creamed mixture and thoroughly mixed.

2.Make 1-1/2-inch balls, then roll them in sugar. Place on ungreased baking sheets 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes at 350° until puffy and gently browned. Remove and cool on wire racks.
